Crazy Photos From The Garden

An all in one product.

I took these photos of the moon: in my car, at the bus stop, in the morning, through a dirty windshield and propping my phone up on my steering wheel to steady it. If you wonder why my photos are as clear as they are: it’s my phone.

If you don’t know what you are looking at, you can identify things in real time with a sky map app.

I don’t own a second camera for my blog. I also am totally not tech oriented. So, the choice to get this phone came down to my husband (he’s one of those people who builds his own computers.) I am completely unskilled with anything electronic. So, I am largely unaware of how far I could push my phone’s camera. However, I am so lucky I have a husband who can do all of the things I suck at (like anything linear!) and he gets a wife who is good at all of the things he sucks at. Plus, we’ve been married for 18 years. We pretty much share the same brain at this point.

Turns out: opposites not only attract, but we are able to cover most issues with at least, one of us, who knows what they are doing!

Back to my phone, I use my phone for most things online. Writing my blog, adding photos, remastering pictures and all of the other things we all use our phones for.

I have no idea what this is. I captured it right next to the moon the day after  India landed a rover on the south pole of the moon. I’m guessing this is some sort of jetisoned rocket pieces. I can’t believe I can capture space junk. However this was really big. Maybe it’s space junk, or maybe it’s aliens! The moon was too bright to photograph this in the same frame.

My phone is an S22 Ultra (Yep, it’s an Android) that is about a year and a half old. My husband thinks Apple is too expensive for what you get. (Kind of a name brand, that uses its clout to sell phones.) I’m not qualified to judge that, so I just go with his recommendations. The fact that I can get such a clear photo of the moon, in less than ideal conditions, makes me a happy girl. The ability to take a photo of the super reflective, bright moon AND planets in the same frame is pretty cool, too. I’m also super happy that I don’t have to do the research on choosing our next phones.

My phone has five lenses on the back, and this conglomeration of lenses/cameras is why my photos are so clear. If you are looking for a separate camera for your blog, I recommend skipping a stand alone camera and upgrading your phone instead. This way everything I need (to write and post pictures) is all in one place. I don’t need to load photos onto a laptop and have two devices to handle one project.

Anyway, this is the tech behind Crazy Green Thumbs. Fairly simple for a non techie to run, and very useful.

Meet you out in the garden to compare our moon photos!
