I had a poor potato harvest this year, however it was entirely my fault. I was sick when I needed to plant these and so they went in the ground about two months late. Same with my onions. Same with the corn.
Luckily (for my health), the kid who brings home the most colds is headed off to college this fall, and I’m hoping I get sick less often. He is also my drama child, so there will be less of that, too.

There’s a moment a momma bird realizes it’s time to clear the nest, so her babies can go off and be adults. That time, in our family: is right now. We have a few more years with the youngest, but my oldest is flying away.
So, I am admiring my little potato haul and forgiving myself for the disorganization that blanketed us this spring.

My crepe myrtles are flowering and the last of the daylillies and gladiolus are blooming.

It’s hitting our summer highs outside. Texas summers are brutal.

We’re going to orientation for my son’s college and then I’m escaping the chaos and going to Colorado for some relaxation and fun with my mom, my best friend and a mentor of mine.

Looking forward to all that is coming. It will be an enjoyable midsummer break!

My kids and hubby have to hold down the fort while I’m gone. We’ll see how that goes!
See you soon, out in the cool mountains!

I have two potato’s planted in pots. One of them has started growing, but it has gone a little yellow cause of the rain. I have two small potato’s set inside, waiting for the spuds to grow 🙂
Good luck! Thanks for coming by and commenting. I appreciate the visit!
Gee, I thought it was too early for crape myrtle, but it is summer now. That went fast. I should see how ours are doing. They are later on the coast.
I have never had crepe myrtles, daylillies and gladiolus bloom at the same time. This was a weird spring. We got super hot and dry and then cooler (for us anyway) rainy. Definitely not our usual. Good to see you today!
I’ll be lucky if I get that many. They just didn’t grow well this year.
We had a very weird spring. It’s almost like spring and summer swapped. We’ve had a bunch of rain so I’m afraid my pomegranates will all be bad. I guess I’ll find out when I open them. Good to see you today!
I got inspired and did a fall planting of cucumbers and zucchini. Hoping now for late frosts.
Yayyyy! I’m in Colorado for the week. So I’m planting as soon as I get home!
Great!! Enjoy your trip!
Thank you!
