Thank You Lord

I have had a simple prayer for many years. I don’t know why I came up with it, but it was so perfect for my life that I kept saying it and didn’t change it for decades.

I say: “God, take me where I am supposed to go. Make me who I am supposed to be.”

It was short and sweet. I never felt the need to alter it.

I said it any time I felt the need to be closer to Him, whether it was from some hardship or from some joy. I always said it the same… until yesterday. I must have had something internal move.

Yesterday my prayer changed.

Yesterday I said. “God, I am where I am supposed to go. I am who I am supposed to be. Thank you for the journey, and for holding my hands every step of the way.”

I don’t know if this new prayer will ever change.

I have hit some milestones recently in my life.

Things, that hopefully only happen once along the journey. But I have my new prayer. And I feel it to the roots of my being.
