Springy Dingy

Heavy flowering in my pear tree. It’s a little cool out today, but not a danger to the blossoms.
Low chill sweet cherry. I put two of these in last year. Royal Lee and Minnie Royal. They made it through our scorching summer last year. Hoping for good things this year!
My son’s lemon tree. My oldest boy is a lemon nut. We gave him a wedge of lemon as a baby and he shoved the whole thing in his mouth before we could stop him. He’s been eating lemon, plus the rind, ever since.
Mulberries. Yay for another allergen I react to. I love the fruit though.
Peach blossoms.
Pomegranate leaves. These make a relaxing tea.
Sweet, low chill, cherry.
One of my favorite flowers. Iris is perfect as far as I’m concerned. Even more perfect: if it blooms more than once a year.
The pear is covered in flowers right now. I’m going to tent this, this year because I’m not growing fruit for the squirrels. I’m tired of losing every pear to those fluffy-tailed tree rats.

See you out in the garden,

  1. These are so beautiful. I don’t think I have green fingers, but I love being around greens and nature. I hope I’d have a space like this one day, so I can grow more plants and maybe even my own food. Until then, I’ll keep myself occupied with my indoor plants and picking up more tips from my tree surgeon friends.

    1. When we first moved here I made sure we picked a house with a large backyard and nothing but grass. Now that I’ve been raising a food forest for over a decade, I sure wish I’d bought a house with bearing fruit trees. The waiting for several years before you can even try the fruit is annoying! But I finally got there. If this is your passion I hope one day you are blessed with the perfect land too! Thanks for coming by! I appreciate the visit.
