Spring is when I get serious about my garden. Weather is nice. Trees are coming in the mail. I build beds and start corn and all sorts of good stuff. The last couple of days I’ve been building permanent wicking beds for some fruiting bushes that are coming.

I’m using cinder blocks.
You know what?
Cinder blocks are freaking heavy. I rediscover that fact every year. But I love them. It’s like legos. Super simple and they don’t rot or rust. But… then: there’s the heavy part!

All my plants are happy. Pushing out buds and flowers. My corn is in. I’m about to plant my tomatoes and peppers. It’s a good time to be outside, doing the heavy lifting projects that I have. I still have to clean up the banana beds. This year I’m going to dig out some of the rootballs of bananas I don’t want.

I have another veggie bed to clean up, and some raised tree beds to build out front.

My trees are going to arrive soon and as usual I’m not completely ready. That’s alright. I always get to where I need to be by the time it starts getting really hot. Lots of fun, playing in the mud! I am ageless in my garden. Probably, why I love it so much!

See you outside, to sweat in the sun and get things done

This looks like fun!
What a great idea to use blocks. On a positive at least you will ahve muscles like SAmson by the time you are finished.
Yes! My husband calls me Thor in the garden! Definitely keeps me healthy.
Well, that is neater than the sticks and stones I use (sandstone and redwood logs).
You’ve been busy!
Yes! In spring I’m a busy little bee! Thanks for coming by and commenting! I appreciate the visit.
A wonderful way to be! 🐝 My pleasure. Thank you.
