Crazy Daily Progress

Finally done with the pawpaw planting. I added a moat around each to gather rain water. When we get rain in south Texas it’s like the sky opens up and a giant waterfall replaces the clouds. It’s never “a little bit” anything, down here. I’m going to cover these with shade cloth this year and maybe next. They like to start out in the shade and then need sun. I don’t know of many other fruit trees with those requirements.

It’s overcast and 79°F. It doesn’t feel like that in the sun and humidity! It’s hot! Luckily I have stuff that I can do inside. Right now I’m cutting drain tile (perforated landscape tubing) for the wicking beds and I don’t have anything that requires a lot of work outside until I’m done with it.

Meet you outside, where we can melt into our shoes!

    1. Well I’ve got to about mother’s day and then it will be too hot to work outside. Spring is definitely my busiest time of the year in the garden. I usually work like a mad woman in the spring, tone it down A LOT in summer, get sick with school germs from my kids in fall and hibernate in the winter!
