Today was the solar eclpise. We were in the 99% range. My brother had rented an airstream and was coming down with his daughter and our mom to be under the 100% path. They were smart enough to cancel. We had thick cloud cover. We went outside and couldn’t even tell what part of the sky the sun was in. Luckily, we watched the partial eclipse last year.
So… Mulberries and a movie!

Laid a piece of row cover down. Shook the branches and ended up with this! We had bowls of mulberries and watched a movie.

BTW, off topic, but: Gene Wilder has always been my favorite actor. He could be completely open, raw, childlike and funny as hell. I watched the Wonka movie prequel last night. I was fully expecting to hate it. But there were so many great actors involved (there’s some Dr Who, The Crown and Downton Abbey actors to name a few shows. Yes, I love the BBC.. Well, wait… I used to love the BBC.) and an honest homage to Gene Wilder’s portrayal of Willy Wonka, that I ended it with some tears of joy. Definitely recommend it if you haven’t seen it and are a fan of the original.
Meet you out in the garden to stain our hands as we “go round the mulberry bush”, shaking the limbs for harvest!

sounds like great choices ALL around!
Oh, what a bummer that it was not visible!
Yes. I think it would have been awesome. But, I’ll have to wait for another partial eclipse. My kids will be in their thirties, hopefully with their own kids, next time we have a full eclipse.
Technically the moon is constantly eclipsing many other suns, whether or not we can actually see them. Does that count?
I will say yes, and go watch the stars flicker!
The stars at night are big and bright.
Hehehe!
