I’m Digging In The Rain, Just Diggin’ In The Rain…

Well it’s a day for a storm. The heat has been bullied back into its corner and I was free to do some work outside. The dripline I’m running is brown. It’s really rubbery and easier to force onto the emiter posts. The downside of working in the rain is: the thick clay gets slippery and sticks to everything, including my flip-flops.

Before my little project. You might wonder what all the blocks by the base of the fence are. They are rabbit and armadillo deterrents.

Today I ran drip line out to the pawpaws. I am intending to visit my mom and best friend soon and I can’t leave watering up to my husband because: just as I cannot figure out electronics, he can’t figure out my garden. It’s a great system that runs well for the things that are covered between us, until I need to be somewhere else. Then I have to work around my absence.

If you zoom in on these you can see the brown dripline. All of the lines outside of the beds are covered in small trenches. I ran extra drip line around the cages that these pawpaws are under so I have some extra when I start fitting the emiters.

I buried the drip line so our mowing crew doesn’t cut it all up when they mow. Now I just need to attach the emiters. I have lots of drip line waiting for emiters but I have an appointment today and I’ve already been outside for the day. No sense getting hot and sweaty again.

Here’s a closeup of the drip line inside the pawpaw bed.

Here’s to rain drops and cool weather! Meet you out in the garden to finally finish up the main summer chores!
