Mountain Summer

Feeding frenzy at the hummingbird feeder!

I’m at my mom’s, in Colorado. I just left AZ where I visited friends, who are like family, for about 5 days. I’m really enjoying myself.

I always feel a deep connection with the land around my mom’s home. I took some great pictures the other day. I hope you enjoy them. I think I’ll spread these over a few posts, because I got so many fantastic photos.

My mom’s ducks on their island in her pond.
There’s been a lot of rain this year.
So pretty!
Some of my mom’s chickens.
She has thistle, which needs to be controlled. But as long as you don’t touch it, it can be very pretty.
Wild flowers. This explains why I can’t grow yarrow where I live in Texas. We have very different growing conditions!
Beautiful seed heads on wild grass.
The flower of thistle plants.
The ducks enjoying the pond and, waiting to be fed.
They are striking on this pond! They stand out, even when looking from a distance!
Duckies wanting food. These are not a very smart breed. They don’t forage.
Clouds and blue spruce and a fir tree. The cottonwood in the background was planted by the original homesteader. He also built my mom’s cabin.

Rowing out to feed the ducks.

Old tomatoes and some grain for the ducks. They were so happy! My mom is in her mid seventies. She’s an active granny!

See you out in the Colorado mountains to raise our frequencies and heal, with the gifts inherent in the land.
