I was in the dollar store today. Which isn’t a dollar anymore. And an employee asked me of I was finding everything I needed. I laughed and said I was probably finding more than I needed, but I did find the pieces for this wreath. The dollar store doesn’t have finished wreaths I’d hang, but they do sometimes have the ingredients. I know we haven’t even hit Thanksgiving yet, but I’m having a hard year so, Christmas came early for me.

First I found this disk. There were several to choose from. They were three dollars. I chose the one that said joy. I need joy. Joy came home with me. I didn’t like that it was on the small side, so I went wandering across the store. I saw another wreath. It would have looked great around the disk but it was too small in the center. Same with every wreath I picked up. Then I remembered dollar tree always has wreath forms. I’ve never purchased a wreath form here, but I’ve seen them. So I grabbed the larger 14.25 inch size. It was $1.25

I remembered seeing garland. There was a lot of reflective tinsel garland. That wasn’t the look I was going for. Then I found this poinsettia garland. I bought two.

I used twine to tie it down. Only because I already had some. Otherwise I would have gotten floral wire. If you are shopping, get the floral wire. If you don’t care and have twine, it will do.

Then I ran the garland around the wreath and secured it in about ten or twelve places. Set the wreath upside down on the floor. I then poked all of the flowers forward. At that point only the plastic chain was facing the wreath support. I finished securing it. Some flowers fell off. Its OK. Those are easy to add back on in the end. I then tied the hanging tab on the joy disk to the top of the wreath.

I could have put this on my front door. But its so cute I hung it on my wall to bring some Christmas cheer to the wall above my television. I’m super happy with it. Took me maybe ten minutes. And yes. There is now Joy! Can’t beat a wreath this size for under $16. I certainly couldn’t do this at Hobby Lobby or Michael’s.
See you out in the garden. Where we can try and decide who accumulated the most glitter in their couch cushions from creating Christmas crafts this year.
