Peppers are perennials down here. These are bird peppers from last year. These were a gift from a great neighbor who loves to garden.
Cherries on the left. I replaced the apples with a mini peach. I’m going to try the apples in a different location. They really struggled in our direct sun and heat last year.
I get a handful or two of blueberries a day.
Don’t plant a pomegranate unless you have room for a thicket!

Muscadine grape. It’s about three years old. I have training to do for this, the blackberries and the Marionberries.
An unusual sight! Pear and lemon in the same photo. I have my son’s lemon tree pulled over under the pear.

Lots of fun in my food forest. Always worth the work!

    1. I am lucky to have a really long growing season, but our summers are brutal. That is when most of the damage I get to my plants happens. Thanks for coming by and commenting! I appreciate the visit.

      1. I’ve been keeping everything under the canopy of insect covers this year after the cabbage moth demolished my brassicas last year but even then, I’m still seeing insect damage. I’m not sure which is worse – brutally hot and humid summers or cold and wet springs.
