Great Links About Fungi

We went on a tour of different universities. My boys had to deal with me excitedly saying, “Mushrooms!” as I ran across the street to take pictures. Yes. I am that embarrassing as a parent. But, they had a lot of patience for their goofy mom. I can’t go places and not notice things in the plant world! I also can’t go places and not get starts or seeds. My kids are used to this, at this point.

My older son even used Google to identify some of the mushrooms, which being tech handicapped, I didn’t know you could do!

The video below is a film about future fungal uses. From breaking down toxic waste at superfund sites, to health and medicine. Mushrooms are amazing. I have been drinking chaga powder tea for over a year. I have had some amazing improvements in my health!

I’ll post my “embarrassing mom” fungus photos below.

This was a fun show about the future of fungi in many fields (including building redundancy into transport systems; and actual fields, like Africa’s Great Green Wall.)

Meet you out on campus to embarrass our loved ones!

  1. Okay, I am not watching that video. It is nearly an hour long, and is narrated with a most objectionable English accent. Besides, I studied some of this in school. Weirdly though, some of what we did not study was not as commonly known as recently as the late 1980s.

    1. I love fungi. I took botany in my first semester in college and fell in love with slime mold. It is a long video, but it’s stuff I nerd out on. I don’t hold anything against you if you’re into shorter videos. My husband won’t watch anything over five minutes. I tend to go down rabbit holes! Nice to see you today! I always enjoy your comments.

      1. Yes. Some Americans flock to foreign accents others run from them! I always thought it was hilarious that Americans love lower class English accents and still think it’s so posh. We are an embarrassingly ignorant and self absorbed county. I have gotten to an age that I turn on subtitles on movies or I can’t understand half the dialog. It becomes very addictive to know all the dialog and miss none, even with weird accents!

      2. HOWEVER; Ricardo Montalban really could sell Chryslers! Seriously, he could make a LeBaron seem awesome. (Of course, in 1976, it was.) I do not mind a British accent for Jaguar commercials, but such an accent is ridiculous for Mercedes Benz commercials, which would be better served by a German (or Mexican) accent, if any at all.
